April 16, 2010 Walton JV 18, Kell JV 8 - JV Longhorns fall to Walton in season finale Despite a late rally it was not enough to overcome 15 hits from the Walton JV.  The Longhorns tried to rally in the fifth inning with 2 rbi from Kyle Korzonowski, and rbi singles from Michael Lattizori and Alec Stockton, but the deficit was too much.  The JV end their season at 6-11.   Pitching - Whitmore 1IP, McReynolds 2IP, Seiz 1IP  Hitting Korzonowski 1B 2BI, Lattizori 1B 1BI, Stockton 1B 2BI SB, Boyette 1B 1BI, O'Brien 2B 2HP, 2SB, McManigal 1B, Bridgers R, Turner 2B, Grifenhagen 2R, Koons R, Altman R, Himmelberg 1BI  

April 14, 2010 Pope JV 8 Kell JV 2 - Kell managed to get quite a few baserunners but couldn't come up with the key hits with runners on base.  The result was an 8-2 loss to Pope's JV squad.  Steven Summey reached base 4 times with 2 singles and 2 walks, and Tyler Altman had a double and a single.  Michael Lattizori also had a double.  Pitching Summey 3IP, Chris Himmelberg 2IP, Kyle Bridgers 1IP,  Hitting Altman 2B 1B R, Lattizori 2B, Summey 2H 2BB, Kyle Lorzonowski BB 2SB, Clay Dodson BB HBP, Neil Seiz R

April 12 Roswell 11 Kell 3 Roswell's JV squad avenged an earlier loss and stung the Kell Longhorns 11-3.  The Jr. Hornets jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and never looked back.  Bradley Helper was the lone bright spot for the Longhorns with a double, a single and 2 rbi.  Pitching - Flanagan 3IP, Brookshire 4IP  Hitting  Helper 2B 1B 2BI, Stockton 1B R, Grifenhagen 1B, Korzonowski 1BI, Turner BB R

April 10, 2010 Kell JV 9, Wheeler JV 0  Benjie Grifenhagen and Grant Morgan turned in a solid pitching performance as they combined on a 2 hit shutout against Wheeler.  Grifenhagen worked the first 5 innings and Morgan the last 2 and Brice O'Brien led the offensive attack with 4 hits and 3 rbi.  Tyler Altman had a double and 2 stolen bases.  Pitching - Grifenhagen 5IP Morgan 2IP  Hitting - Obrien 2B 31B 3BI SB, Altman 2B 2SB, Grifenhagen 1B BB 1BI, Michalek 1B BB SF, Stockton 1B  SB BB, Korzonowski 1B BB, Lattizori 1B Bridgers 1B  

April 9, 2010 Centennial JV 12 Kell JV 4, Showing some rust from a spring break, the Kell JV could not overcome a hot Centennial squad that banged out 15 hits.  Michael Lattizori had 2 hits, and Bryer Brookshire, Alec Stockton, Clayton Turner, and Kerrigan McManigal each had 1.  Pitching Flanagan 1IP, Kyle Bridgers 2IP, Avery McReynolds 3IP  Hitting Lattizori 2H R, Brookshire H, Stockton H, Turner H, McManigal H, Himmelberg 2BB, Seiz BB R, O'Brien R, Altman SB Summey BB 

April 1, 2010 Kell JV 7 Walton 6  Steven Summey executed a squeeze bunt to bring home Kyle Korzonowski in the bottom of the seventh to provide the winning margin against Walton.  Benjie Grifenhagen set up the win with a clutch double. James Flanagan pitched well for the Longhorns going 4 innings with 3 K's and Bryer Brookshire went the rest of the way with 3 innings and 2 K's.  Michael Lattizori, Tyler Altman, and Summey each had 2 hits.    

March 31, 2010 Wheeler 7, Kell 6 Steven Summey pitched 5 solid innings and Kell turned a triple play, but it wasn't enough as Wheeler eaked out a 7-6 win.  Hitting Grifenhagen 2b bb 1bi 2r, Turner 2b 1b bb 1bi, Brookshire 21b 2bi, Stockton 2b 1b 1bi, Helper 21b, Korzonowski 21b  1bi O'Brien 1b r, Altman 1b Summey 1b, Pitching Summey 5ip, Himmelberg 1ip, Flanagan 1ip 

March 29, 2010 Kell JV 7, Milton JV 6 Benjie Grifenhagen pitched 5 innings of 1 hit baseball leading Kell to a 7-6 victory over the Milton JV.  Grifenhagen struck out 5 batters and didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning.  Kyle Korzonowski lead Kell's offense with 3 hits, 2 runs and an rbi.  Tyler Altman also had 2 hits and scored 2 runs.  Pitching - Grifenhagen 5IP, Avery McReynolds 2IP  Hitting Korzonowski 3h 2r 1bi, Altman 2h 2r, Stockton h 2rbi, Grifenhagen h sb r, Summey h bb, Dodson h, Seiz r.

March 26, 2010 Lassiter JV 14, Kell JV 1 The JV Longhorns suffered their worst defeat of the season as they fell to Lassiter 14-1.  The Trojans hit well and the loss was compounded with some costly defensive play.  Bright spots for Kell were Steven Summey with 2 hits, Clayton Turner with a hit and 2 stolen bases, and Bradley Helper with a double.  Pitching - Charlie Boyette 1Ip, Clay Dodson 2IP, Avery McReynolds 1IP, Tyler Altman 1IP, Chris Himmelberg 1IP.  The Longhorns will host Milton next Monday. 

March 24, 2010 Pope 2, Kell 0.  James Flanagan and Johnathan Whitmore combined to scatter 5 hits and only 2 runs, but Pope's pitchers were even stingier as they held the Longhorns to just 4 hits in a 2-0 Pope victory.  Alec Stockton, Brice O'Brien, and James Bridgers helped Kell's cause with solid defense.  Hitting - Korzonowski 2b, O'Brien 2b. March 20, 2010 Pope 5, Kell 1Benjie Grifenhagen turned in a solid pitching performance but Pope prevails with a late rally for a 5-1 victory over the Kell JV.  Grifenhage scattered 6 hits and struck out 7 batters, while walking omly 1. A scoreless duel was broken in the 6th inning when Reid Michalek gave Kell a 1-0 lead with a home run.  Pope answered in their half of the inning when they erupted for 5 runs off of Griffenhagen and Avery McreynoldsHitting Griffenhagen 2b 2h, Michalek HR, Korzonowski 2b, Turner, 1b  Pitching Griffenhagen 5.1IP McReynolds .2IP

March 19, 2010 Alpharetta JV 6, Kell JV 5  Kell loses late lead, falls to Alpharetta 6-5.  Leading 5-2 Kell needed 3 outs to record a victory against the Alpharetta JV.  It wasn't to be as Alpharetta rallied for 4 runs and a 6-5 victory.  Steven Summey pitched 5 strong innings for Kell with defensive help from Benjie Griffenhagen and Tyler AltmanClay Dodson doubled and scored for a 1-0 Kell lead.  Trailing 2-,1, Kell tied it on a run scoring triple from Brice O'BrienClayton Turner gave Kell a lead with a runscoring single and padded it when Summey drew a bases loaded walk.  In the 6th Grifenhagen doubled and scored on a 2 out single from Kyle Korzonowski. March 17, 2010 - Kell JV 11, Roswell JV 10.  Clutch hitting and defense helped the Kell JV hand the Roswell JV their second loss of the season.  James Flanagan started for the Longhorns and worked into the 4th inning.  Avery McReynolds relieved Flanagan and held Kell's lead for 3 innings.  Both pitchers were backed by superb fielding including outstanding catches by Benjie Grifenhagen, and Steven SummeyKyle Korzonowski also made key stops at first base.  Offensively, the Longhorns were led by Alec Stockton with a double, triple, and 3 rbi, and Brice O'Brien with 2 hits, and 2 rbi.   Hitting -  Stockton 2b 3b 3bi sb r, O'Brien 2h 2bi 3sb r, Clayton Turner h bb 1bi r, Summey h bb, Bradley Helper 2b bb Pitching -  Flanagan 3IP, McReynolds 3IP

March 13, 2010 - Kell JV 10, Walton JV 9.  Benjie Griffenhagen worked past some first inning difficulties and settled down with 5 solid innings of pitching, and Brice O'Brien had a 4 hit and rbi day to lead the Kell JV past Walton 10-9.  Griffenhagen pitched out of some jams and was also backed up by some solid defense which included 2 runners thrown out at the plate.  Clay Dodson pitched an inning of relief, and Steven Summey closed the game in the 7th with help from Griffenhagen's diving catch.  O'Briens 2 run single in the first inning ignited the Longhorns in a productive offensive afternoon.  Kyle Korzonowski reached base 4 times, Kerrigan McManigal and Dodson reached base 3 times, Clayton Turner twice, and Tyler Altman was 2 for 2 with 2 rbi.  Kell will travel to Roswell on Wednesday March 17th for  6pm game. 

March 6, 2010 - Kell JV 4, McEachern JV 0 - Behind an outstanding pitching performance from  James Flanagan, the Longhorns defeated the McEachern JV 4-0. Flanagan's complete game gem included 8 strikeouts and he allowed only 1 hit and 4 base runners.  He carried a no hitter into the 6th inning and was backed by solid defensive support from Alec Stockton with 4 assists.  Offensively, Kell struck early in the first inning and bolted to a 3-0 lead with hits from Stockton, Kyle Korzonowski, and Grant Morgan Clayton Turner added a single and a walk.  The junior Longhorns will play Wheeler on Thursday March 11th. 

March 5, 2010 - Wheeler JV 8,  Kell JV 6 - Despite solid pitching from Avery McReynolds, Kell falls to Wheeler 8-6. Bright spots for the Longhorns offensively were from Alec Stockton (1b, 2b, 2bi, 2r, sb) Clay Turner (3b, bb) Steven Summey (1b, 1bi) Brice O'Brien (3b, r) Benjie Grifenhagen (1b) and Bradley Helper (1b).  Defensively, the Longhorns got solid play from Stockton, Summey and Grifenhagen.  Johnathan Whitmore and Chris Himmelberg also pitched for Kell.  The JV Longhorns will play McEachern on Saturday.   

February 27, 2010 - Allatoona JV 7 Kell JV 6 - The Kell JV team opened up its season with a tight 7-6 loss to the Allatoona JV.  The Longhorns got solid pitching performances from Benjie Grifenhagen, and James Flanagan, but could not overcome several defensive lapses.  Grifenhagen and Flanagan impressively combined for 11 strikeouts, with 7 and 4 respectively.  The Longhorns were leading 4-2 but defensive miscues cost them in the bottom of the 4th.  Offensively, the Longhorns were led by Clayton Turner, who had 2 hits including a home run and Grifenhagen who spanked 2 doubles.  Clay Dodson also had a hit for Kell.  The JV Longhorns travel to Wheeler for their next game on Thursday, March 4  Pitching -  Grifenhagen 3.1IP, Flanagan 2.2IP  

 

April 17 - Kell's JV jumped on Walton early sending 14 men to the plate in a big first inning, scoring 9 runs, and setting up a 16-1 victory.  Jake Jensen had 2 hits, a walk and scored 3 runs.  Kyle Korzonowski had a hit, 2 walks and scored 2 runs. Benjie Grifenhagen had a bases clearing 3 run double, walked twice and scored 3 runs, and Parker Madden had an RBI triple and scored a run.  Grifenhagen also pitched effectively, and had the luxury of solid run support. 

March 23 - Kell JV stumble in loss to Walton 12-2.  Bright spots in the lopsided game were hits by Jacob Brabon, Kevin Tramble, Jake Jensen, and Robert Daly.  On the mound, Steven Summey and James Flanagan had some good moments. 

March 20 - Kell's JV lose to Alpharetta, as the Raiders scored most of their runs late.  Chris Goerschel pitched 6 plus innings of solid baseball for Kell striking out 6 batters, but tired in the seventh.  The Longhorns managed 9 hits led by Kevin Tramble's 2 doubles.  Jordan Dwyer and Jake Jensen also had a pair of hits.  Batting - Jensen 2 1B, Daly HBP, Tramble 2 2B, Brabon 1B, Dwyer 2 1B, Summey BB, Gowder 1B, Korzonowski 1B,  Pitching  Goerschel LP 6.0 IP 6K, Daly 1 IP   

March 18 - Kell JV start slowly and trail Roswell early, but Kevin Tramble settles down on the mound and Benje Grifenhagen twirls 3 shutout innings allowing Kell's bats to come alive for an 11-2 Kell victory.  Jacob Brabon, Kevin Tramble, Chris Goerschel, Kyle Korzonowski, and Clayton Turner had hits leading the Kell team.  James Flanagan finished the last inning on the hill for Kell. 

March 14 - Good hitting and good pitching makes for a solid combination as Kell pounds Sprayberry 7-2.  Starting pitcher Jacob Brabon worked 5 effective innings and Jake Jensen closed the deal with 2 innings of work.  They allowed only 3 hits and struck out 5 Jacket batters.  The Longhorn bats were busy also as they lashed out 10 hits highlighted by Kevin Tramble's home run in the 5th inning.  Jensen, Robert Daly, Jordan Dwyer, and Brabon each had 2 hits to lead the attack.  Batting - Jensen 2H, Daly 2H, Tramble HR, Brabon 2H, Michalek 2BB, Goerschel 2BB, Dwyer 1B 2B, Proshek 1H Pitching Brabon WP 5IP, Jensen 2IP

March 10 - Chris Goerschel slammed a Home Run and Robert Daly pitched well to lead the Kell JV team to a 4-2 victory against Marietta.  Ryan Moran doubled and Jake Jensen had an rbi single to also support to Kell charge.   

March 7 - Kell JV take first loss in close 5-3 game vs. Kennesaw Mtn.  Playing the back end of an 'away and home' doubleheader, Kell started strong but ran out of gas as K. Mtn came back for a 5-3 win.  Kell scored all of its runs in the second inning as Robert Daly, Ben Grifenhagen and Adam Seewoester came around on RBI from Kyle Korzonowski and Jake Jensen.  Jacob Brabon pitched 4 innings of shutout ball

March 7 - Kell JV hammer McEachern Indians 14-8.  Kyle Proshek went 3 for 3 with a double and Ryan Moran ripped a triple as they led an 8 hit attack for Kell. Robert Daly started and notched the win with Nick Corley effective in relief.  Batting Proshek 3H 2B 3BI 2R, Moran 3B R, Gowder H, Korzonowski H, Jensen H, Selcer H,  Pitching WP Daly 1-0,

March 5 - The Kell JV team played its season and home opener against crosstown rival Walton. In a low scoring affair, the Kell JV eke out a 2-1 victory. Ryan Moran singled home Jacob Brabon with the game winning hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kell got solid pitching from Chris Goerschel into the fifth inning as he allowed only one run, and was supported by a great defensive play from SS Jake Jensen. Parker Madden pitched shutout ball the rest of the way and picked up the win. Moran 3H 2B 1BI, Brabon 2R, Madden WP 1-0
